The study on digitalisation at the first-sale stage aims to provide an overview of the current state of digitalisation in landing forecasts and first sales of fishery products across the EU.
The objectives of the report are to describe the progress of digitalisation in first sales and landing forecasts, focusing on the number of auctions conducted, the stakeholders using these digital tools and technologies, and the IT systems employed. It also aims to identify the main drivers, challenges, and impacts associated with digitalisation, as well as to outline key prospects for the development or improvement of digitalisation tools. The report is based on desk research and interviews with stakeholders involved in either landing forecasts or first sales across several Member States, including the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, France, Spain, and Italy.
