EUMOFA Talk at European Maritime Day (23 May) - Driving Innovation in the Blue Bioeconomy: Algae
EUMOFA is pleased to invite you to the upcoming workshop "Driving Innovation in the Blue Bioeconomy: Algae," which will be held in person on 23 May 2025, from 15:00 to 16:15 GMT+1, at the European Maritime Day in Cork, Ireland.
This workshop is a collaborative effort between the EU4Algae project and EUMOFA. The event will present key data and trends from the EUMOFA Blue Bioeconomy Report, with a particular emphasis on the role of algae in advancing the regenerative blue bioeconomy. It will highlight the synergies among EU-funded algae projects, showcasing their key outcomes and outlining future initiatives. The event will also serve as a platform for networking and collaboration among stakeholders from industry, academia, policy, and related sectors. Discussions will explore both the challenges and opportunities in scaling up algae-based solutions, aligning with EU objectives for regenerative farming and market development. Moreover, insights from the event will feed into the CINEA F2P initiative, influencing policy discussions informed by the projects' findings. Finally, the event will provide valuable feedback to the European Commission, offering input for the design of future policies and funding frameworks, based on lessons learned from these projects.
On behalf of EUMOFA, Ms. Luisa De Paola and Mr. Claudio Serangeli will present their contributions on the upcoming Blue Bioeconomy report, which will be published shortly.
The EUMOFA Team will be also on hand throughout the three-day event to offer practical demonstrations on how to access data and key information using new dashboards on the European fisheries and aquaculture market available on its website.
